Bright Power seeks an experienced program and operations manager to join Bright Power's Technology division. This individual will be responsible for the effective delivery of the most important projects in the IT strategic plan while ensuring excellence in IT’s day-to-day operations. This role manages the IT systems team, providing quality support experiences to our employees and reducing systems downtime. 

The ideal candidate possesses proven experience in the effective discovery, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing of projects across multiple technology domains. This includes but is not limited to IT systems, CRM and ERP platforms, Data systems and architecture, and software development environments. 

 

The Role

  • Own, track, and execute multiple simultaneous full-scale projects from initiation, planning, development, testing, to closing.
  • Meet project deliverables on time, within budget, and scope.
  • Ensure regular open, transparent communication amongst project teams, department, and business stakeholders.
  • Identify and effectively convey project goals, objectives, and expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely, transparent, and compelling fashion.
  • Ensure the effective engagement of all project roles and responsibilities throughout the project's lifecycle.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to discuss and document successes and lessons learned for future projects.
  • Working on an Agile project and operations team, participating in regular standup meetings, retrospectives, sprint reviews, and other scheduled project activities.
  • Support the coaching and education of project management best practices to peers and business partners. 
  • Support the continuous improvement of the project management processes for the IT team.
  • Support the VP of Technology in developing and updating project management standard tools & templates
  • Maintain and improve IT’s internal ITSM systems
  • Ensure the effective monitoring, maintenance, and control of IT servers and infrastructure, including but not limited to office network technology (routers, firewalls, internet circuits, switches, and access points 
  • Respond to escalated inquiries and assist in troubleshooting and resolving technology challenges
  • Collaborate with managed service provider partners to resolve technical issues related to network interruptions, cloud applications, and end-user computing devices
  • Other tasks as assigned
 

Qualifications

  • Education: A degree in IT, Software, Business Intelligence, Project Management, or other relevant academic programs, or a plan to pursue one.
  • 5+ years of proven experience working on IT teams in a senior or lead role.
  • Technically proficient in IT cloud infrastructure technologies, including Meraki, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Crowdstrike, Jamf Pro and Intune MDMs, and end-user computing operating systems. 
  • Proficient in administering and maintaining company-wide security and governance protocols and practices, including SOC2 Type II, NIST CSF, and CIS standards. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and multitask.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven track record in working as part of a team to maintain and improve internal technology systems
  • Interest in learning about buildings, construction, and its relation to energy and environmental issues.

The ideal candidate would have one or more of the following:

  • General knowledge of building systems and construction best practices
  • General understanding of energy efficiency, storage, and generation technologies
  • Advanced expertise in the combination of Microsoft 365 administration, Network Administration, and Cloud SaaS Apps Administration. 
 

Physical Demands

The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision and hearing abilities may be required by this job, including close vision and adjusting focus based on the task and surrounding activity. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
